Hollande's visit to Turkey

The visit of the French President Hollande in Turkey , the first after 22 years , has allowed us to reconnect the two countries, after which , with the Sarkozy presidency , there were significant differences. The most important was the promise to submit to the French people the question of turkish country in the EU. It was , in truth, a good figure at no cost, which allowed Hollande to show up anyway as a reliable partner in respect of a country , whose entry into Europe is a strategic objective . The Turkish question , probably will not fit in the possibility to take part in the decision of the French president, if he is not re-elected in 2017. However, Ankara is also important to have symbolic cues , which may reopen a dialogue with the EU , Turkey, at this time, just sucks that the accession process is not interrupted. Maintain an open dialogue with Brussels at this time is a priority facing the international scene, because it means dampen the media attention on the work of Erdogan's government , hit by corruption investigations and on previously , there have been , and continue to be , serious doubts about the actual enforcement of human rights in the country. However, the question of accession could also be thwarted by the Turks themselves , when they were called to speak on the issue through a referendum. The conclusion of the process, on the European side is not easy : in the old continent seems there are two diametrically opposed interpretations , both for numerical weight , which for influence. In fact, it seems that the majority of the European population is not in favor of an entry into the EU of a country where Islamic influence is so important, however, on the contrary, in diplomatic circles Ankara's accession would be welcomed, both for the its geographical contiguity with Europe, for both the economic potential and geopolitical turkish could ensure that the entrance . It is on this basis, the French president has embarked on his journey to Turkey to strengthen trade ties , especially in energy, agribusiness and infrastructure, because the country has been identified as a turkish market and in development , in the future, a partner in which to invest .
