The International Monetary Fund is against austerity
The rethinking of the International Monetary Fund, the goodness of the austerity measures imposed to some countries in serious trouble , as Greece and Portugal , has the meaning of a late repentance . Excessive austerity caused by this economic line , resulted in the collapse of the middle class , the further impoverishment of the poorest sectors of society, so too impressed by the asymmetric financial rigor . Instead of recommending spending cuts proportional to the various classes of income , fiscal policies have struck indiscriminately , trying to drain income from social masses without any distinction. The result has been an exponential increase in inequality , which put in serious danger social cohesion and the very stability of the states. One of the thoughts that drove these maneuvers was the usual miscalculation liberal , favoring the rich who says that the market moves starting from luxury goods . So it was not , the saturation of this market has not been compensated by one starting from the middle classes to go down, because of the ability of private spending. This has created a vicious negative , which has dealt a blow before the trade and then that of production. Even the attempt to save the banks, this successful thanks to the sacrifices imposed on the working classes , has had , then , the expected effects , due to an inability to enforce the provision of liquidity in the system , able to stimulate investment. You have successfully generated a particularly favorable to banks , even though they were the main suspects guilty state of crisis. The banks, ie , they have healed with subsidized rates to their advantage, granted by central institutions , the errors that largely created the crisis. With these considerations, the cry of alarm coming from the IMF appears at least , not sincere. However, the need of the adjustment methods of training budgets is what occurred. The alarm bell is clear: the weaker classes should no longer be affected by the indiscriminate financial maneuvers . The hardship is detrimental to the economy itself, because it does not allow him an adequate rate of growth ; those reasons , even beyond the social considerations , which have a cost , however , should be enough to stop a bad practice precisely because anti- economic . It therefore requires a general rethinking on the part of the employees , who must begin first of all by the policy , finally exercised as a common good . If some states continue to be deaf and will remain on the same path , it is mandatory to find other tools to force them to change their attitude . The European case is symptomatic of a proper management of this kind, where Germany is able to exercise exaggerated compared to the rest of the Union. Also because this trend favors the onset of populist groups , which came to power could destroy if the sacrifices made so far . It is therefore necessary to find a common ground of understanding that could do understand the demands of all to make the economy grow from the bottom. Although the appeal of the IMF sounds a little hypocritical , it is still an appeal to authority, that the rulers should take into account in the forthcoming economic strategies .
