China wants to increase its economic engagement with Africa
The Chinese premier's trip to Africa once again underlines the strategy of Beijing on the African continent, a strategy of massive investment, but much criticized for over-exploitation of resources, with a view defined as neo-colonialist. Chinese interest in moving on two main fronts: the, just the retrieval of natural resources, which are essential to the development of China, such as oil and gas, and the creation and penetration of the commercial market of Africa, which is ensuring high growth rates. China has maintained, in these countries, the conduct commonly adopted in the international arena, that is, to avoid any judgment and actions resulting in the internal policy. That of non-interference is a proven tactic that allows you to do business with any kind of government and also is also used in the system of reciprocity: if Beijing does not dispute any conduct of another country, the same claims for itself. The major criticism of the invasion of Africa, China is, in part, even those that are moved to the behaviors at home: the poor, or no, respect for the rights of workers and highly polluting industrial policies. The origin of these criticisms, however, is driven by those states that have had a colonial past and this is a subject that Beijing often uses to argue. It must be said that no industrialized country has undertaken any economic policy in an organic way in Africa, limiting interventions totally uncoordinated and non-functional to the overall development of African countries. The great liquidity available to Beijing, instead, allowed the possibility of making large infrastructure investments, started from the Chinese industrial needs, allowed to increase the development of the countries in which they were built. The fact remains that the majority of African countries are undergoing something of a new period of colonization, where resources do not bring all the profits that could, because, once again, the economic capacity of other states, this time financial, formerly military, prevents the full exploitation of the country by the owner. This state of inferiority of African countries, which have not been able to achieve a proper organization, because of the strange assemblage of peoples and ethnic groups built by the Western countries with the end of colonization and resulting in serious times of war, until recently, have in fact, given the huge resources available to the country of China, able to tackle the problem with a view of the whole tank internal relations in the respective countries where focused his speech. The main consequence was to give China the exploitation of African resources in a time of need in the world economy, precluding a market in strong growth. Myopia West has contributed to the growth of China to its detriment, in a territory where he could start advantage of the language and the many cooperation projects exist. Not having favored a full democracy can overcome or contain corruption has been a fertile ground for the Chinese settlement, which thanks to its economic power, has been able to achieve favorable agreements. However, even in Africa is emerging awareness that China nor that no benefactor who wants to believe, the emergence of spontaneous movements against the invasion of Beijing, is a clear sign of discomfort on the part of a population and of a working class, that is beginning to understand that working conditions and also pay taxes, are not sufficient to support a new rule, although economic in nature. China is concerned about these initiatives and it was significant that the first official visit abroad of the new premier took place in Africa. You can not, however, to imagine a different strategy than to increase investment, which will become more and more to make sure the exclusive exploitation of mineral deposits. This impression has been, however, confirmed by the concerned Sub-Saharan Africa, where China despite having large investments, did not intervene and did not deliver statements against rebels in Mali, using at no cost the French intervention, which also had the merit to safeguard the interests of Beijing. The prospect of an exclusively economic in China, the end does not allow the international growth that China has among its objectives.
