China seeks to become a leading diplomatic power

The need for China to take an increasingly global role in the international arena, not only limited to economic expansion, has created the desire to Beijing to compete with the entire case thorniest diplomatic scene: the Israeli-Palestinian issue. It should be said that the challenge chosen by the Chinese is the most difficult for the current political situation and the historical scenario that has been dragging on for a long time, however, a successful, or even a partial success, where so many years of American foreign policy and not only, have essentially failed, would allow the Chinese diplomacy to assume a role of primary importance, overturning the vision of the country as a determinant in economic terms, but without any influence in international relations. It is an ambitious project, which, however, has no contraindications, a failure on a matter so difficult, is not in any way affect the construction of the international prestige that Beijing is trying hard to build. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said that China intends to make the country as an intermediary for the promotion of the peace process as a friend of Israel and Palestine, in this regard, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a proposal consisting of four points to try to solve the conflict between the two Middle Eastern peoples. Some analysts, however, argue that the Chinese intentions are not only those to carve out an important place in world diplomacy, but also to increase its influence in the region of the Middle East, where the economic interests of Beijing have been damaged by the advent of spring Arab. In this perspective, a success in the complicated negotiation, possibly to be concluded with the statement of the scheme of the two states, so as to finally give the Palestinians full sovereignty over its territory, could help China's image in the Arab world, considered strategic for possession of energy resources. This analysis does not exclude, however, the Chinese are going to be able to fill the political vacuum left by the Arab Spring, in fact the relationship of these Arab states with the United States are no longer the same that existed when there were dictatorships in power reversed. China by the great economic power, can, at least in part, replace the United States, but needs a recognition that goes beyond the large liquidity facility that may engage in investment also substantial. From the side, which affects more closely the issue between Israel and the Palestinians, however, the impulse Chinese can only be welcomed, because it is likely to provide new blood and new perspectives to the dialogue, it must be said that in the abstract is perhaps best suited to negotiations an intermediary who is totally neutral and do not compromise with any party to the dispute, which for the U.S., and also the EU, you can not just say, because of the very strong ties between Washington and Tel Aviv. The Beijing Action should also be seen as an attempt to balance the increasing interest that the U.S. is devoting to the region of Southeast Asia, activities certainly not appreciated by China because it affects areas of the planet which are closest to their own territory and where the action of Washington is seen as a kind of intrusion. Xi Jinping has assumed a particularly soft against the interest aroused world-Chinese initiative, taking to point out that China seeks to carve out, very carefully, a place in a scenario increasingly multipolar, without trying to replace the United States in the role of world policeman. In reality, these statements seem to be going in the opposite direction of a vision that requires the presence of a plurality of power, but on the contrary it seems the prelude to a new bipolar structure.
