Saving the euro is not save Europe
The fears of the President of the European Commission Barroso, on the advanced Eurosceptics are increasingly taking place. What is being developed within the EU is a dangerous mix of populism, nationalism and extremism, which is gaining ground within the 27 European members of the public. Who nourishes always been doubts about the effectiveness of the European Union, like the United Kingdom where feelings against a united Europe are increasingly growing and increasingly fueled by new subjects, adding pockets of antonyms in countries traditionally loyal to the ideal-European such as Italy, France and the countries of the North. Mainly what has fueled most of the new trends is to be found in the serious economic crisis and the role played by Germany, which has imposed an excessive rigor, but also in the German country, albeit for opposite reasons, is developing the idea of exit single currency, no longer considered useful for the needs of Germany, stating, so the tendency to break the union through the recantation of the single currency. The model so far has practiced seen as inseparable unity with the monetary policy, but the effect of the crisis and the conflicting demands are helping to alter the scheme so far carried out. But for now it is more worrying is the action of political parties to extreme or anti-system matrix, which, for various reasons, but the results were essentially homogeneous are carrying out projects and trends that deny the European Union as such. Often, however, the ideas and projects carried out by these anti-European formations are in sharp contrast and emphasize the contrasts between southern and northern Europe with recipes and functional alternative to the territorial area to which they belong, which is often enhanced in an almost extreme. The European institutions and the traditional parties have a great responsibility for the growth of these movements, which arise from the proposals inadequate, especially in economic matters, carried out over several years of power exercised in a negative way. The central node, which exceeds the nationalistic visions based on local topics or xenophobic, consists, however, of the single currency: the influence that the euro has on national economies and overly policy of austerity, often identified only as a protection of the euro, generate such strong tensions that threaten European unity. The real risk is to save the euro but to sacrifice a united Europe, which arose from very different assumptions, that the mere defense of a currency to become an empty box without adequate political support. It should be noted that the intention of the founders of Europe was born on the basis of democratic values and freedom, they had to increase the well-being and standard of living of the population. With the strenuous defense of the euro, through the protection of special interests, sacrificing general ones, the perception of the founding values of the European Union level falls, giving free rein, even partly justified, the detractors and the disappointed of a project debased because they are too tied to the evaluation exclusively economic. But from there it is mandatory again: loosening the constraints of rigor and finding new forms of social contracts, which allow adequate recovery even in countries most affected by the crisis is the necessary starting point but not sufficient to allow the idea of Europe regain ground in the hearts of Europeans, who must feel a closeness of the institutions through increased activity aimed at improving the quality of life, declined to levels too low, only in the name of a distorted idea of Europe.
