Iran: the few hopes of reformists
The reformist Iranian throws all his meager hopes of victory over a candidate theologian than 65 years, Hassan Rohani, who also enjoys the favor of former President Khatami, but who against two key factors that make up the framework of the Iranian election. The first is the resignation of the population, especially the part that can be ascribed to potential voters Rohani, Iranian citizens struggling with a total lack of confidence in the institutions now difficult to scratch, people who are guided by the belief that nothing can change the course ultraconservative taken by the state. To social and political problems related to the exercise of rights, further sapping the morale of the population were added to the difficult conditions resulting from adverse economic conditions that Iran is going through. The second factor in contrast to a reformist statement is the state of severe oppression of the followers of this current, which are controlled with an iron fist by the Islamic organizations in power, such as the Council of Guardians, and who have suffered several arrests for their activism. Who has the power in the country, the ultra-conservative Orthodox Islamic, use all the means available for you to not ripen the conditions for repetition of the events of 2009, when a wave of protests that followed the election of the incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. In fact, the tactic has been to obstruct the work of the competing candidates, now reduced to only Rohani, combined with the elections to pass almost unnoticed, as an event of the second floor, not to make too much of interest to a national event, and so stimulate potential opportunities grievance. Rohani, who tried in 2003 an agreement with the West to stop the Iranian nuclear activities, conducted a campaign with moderate tones, so as not to give rise to complaints from the powers that be, but has assumed a tone of availability with the ' West and claiming too conservative approach of its competitors, recognizing that whoever is elected will have to deal with the difficult economic situation derived from international sanctions. The forecasts are unfavorable to the candidate of the reformist movement, which would see a victory to reach the second round of the ballot if no candidate in the first consultation a result more than 50% of the vote.
