Israel calls for tougher sanctions against Iran

For now, the Israeli state does not prove to believe in repentance of Iran on the nuclear issue, even if the polls came out the winner moderate candidate, who, against all the polls, seems to be currently in the lead in the presidential contest. What to Tel Aviv see as the most influential character in question is always the Supreme Leader of the Islamic country, Ali Khamenei, identified as the true inspiration for the country's nuclear program. Tel Aviv says he does not see prospects for substantial change even with an eventual election of Rohani, who also in his role as nuclear negotiator with the West, held between 2003 and 2005, showed less rigidity of the latest Iranian commissions, in dialogue with the international community. In view of these considerations Israel supports the tightening of economic sanctions, as a warning to Iran, which wants under the impression that the military option remains on the table of the possibilities. In fact, despite the threatening tone, Israel carries out this threat with a double purpose: the first is to influence the vote of Iran, through the threat of economic conditions even harder for a population already very weakened by the economic crisis and to address the competition to the affirmation of the moderate candidate, and the second, however, is a novelty that must be interpreted in a positive way, for the Israeli international politics, since the threat of the military option, although always present, takes second place after the required tightening of sanctions. It is a good news, especially if related to the development of the Middle East situation. This moderation signals the awareness of the Israeli leadership to temper the tone with the hope that the international community can find Iranian interlocutors more willing to cooperation for a peaceful solution of the nuclear issue.
