To avoid extremism Turkey needs Europe

The facts Turks reveal the malaise of a country forced into a process of Islamization is not shared by the majority of the population. Despite the electoral success of Prime Minister Erdogan, the number of disgruntled is growing and this dissatisfaction is not mitigated by a country's growth objective, achieved through targeted economic policies, which resulted in a level of well-being more prevalent among the citizenry. But what we are witnessing is not comparable to the Arab Spring, which differed from the turkish case, and worst for different starting conditions. Turkey, as has been said from the start, is not in a disastrous economic situation, but, in fact, it ranks much the opposite, and does not suffer from a lack of rights, only that these rights are compressed in the name of a presence stronger than religion within the political and social aspects of the country at the expense of a more secular, which until the last government regulations, allowed a balance which was a point of reference within Islam, to countries that Westerners. The turkey was just the model that looked, at least initially, countries emerging from the Arab Spring: a set of rules and behaviors respectful of the religious Arabic, within a secular state, able to be ever-larger player in the international arena and in economic terms. Turkey, thanks to these feelings I was able to instill in countries and governments that came from years of dictatorship, immediately seized the opportunity by showing to know itself as a sort of country leader of pan-Arabism, in a vision, he wanted trace, in broad terms and transported in the current historical moment, the influence of the Ottoman Empire. This line has to be admitted, it was also a little forced a direction dictated by the refusal of the EU to enable Turkey to become a member state, we must recognize that the responsibility for the failure of the inclusion of Ankara are to be found in both parties, but the ' stiffening of Brussels, while also based on objective reasons, has determined that Turkey will focus more outlets where he could find and closures. Perhaps the change of behavior of the turkish government, rather than by internal reasons is due to reasons ester, which had a huge fallout on the balance of the state. The need to ask yourself to Arab partners in a manner more suited to certain customs has forced the decision to take actions that violate the civil rights acquired, which generated the phenomena of opposition voters even in areas consist of the Prime Minister in charge. The West must look with concern to these phenomena because Turkey is, at the moment, the only bridge that would allow a dialogue with moderate Islam. Of course the detractors of Turkey in Europe will have easy arguments to justify to have averted a member so cumbersome, directed towards a dangerous confessional, in fact a process of inclusion agreed by both parties could have mitigated the religious impulses, which are making their way in a society that, as ways of life, it is still closer to the western style. Even the timid reverse that Erdogan has begun to put in place, while not disavowing his work, show that the magnitude of the secular front is even quite substantial and, above all, feared in view of the elections next year. The European Union should take, therefore, dialogue interrupted to bring Ankara to Brussels or to avert a Muslim comes to its borders and to include a new member capable of bringing economic vitality necessary to the old continent, which would certainly the basis for an essential integration in the international arena.
