In Egypt, the new government takes office in a situation increasingly difficult

The new government took office in Egypt is characterized by its composition, which includes liberal and technicians, providing a connotation certainly more secular. The presence, as Deputy Prime Minister General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who also holds the post of defense minister, emphasizes the great importance of the military in the executive led by economist Hazem Beblawi. The new government includes three women and three Copts, who represent an element of profound break with the approach of the previous government, especially the presence of the leaders of the Christian community, very hostile to Mursi, is a sign of change, almost challenging, very strong Islamic parties. Although this approach is that the Muslim Brotherhood to Al-Nour Salafi movement had been proposed some ministries in an effort to achieve national reconciliation, which would allow a more peaceful transition of the situation that followed the coup. The rejection of Islamist movements, however, has contributed to worsening an already very serious. The reasons for non-participation in the new government coincide with the lack of recognition of the same: because it is considered illegitimate and the result of a military coup and put in place mainly because of a legitimately elected government. On the charge of illegality of the government is also lacking the recognition of his authority, a situation that creates a kind of legitimacy to the executive will to fight by all means, even violent. Supporters of Mursi have become the protagonists of events which resulted in clashes with the army, which caused several deaths and a wave of arrests. The most ardent supporters of the ousted president are occupying in Cairo, the Mosque of al-Rabia Adawiya, refusing to leave the place until Mursi not resume the post of head of the state. Meanwhile quivers diplomatic activity, with appeals to the Egyptian country for an end to violence and resume the dialogue between the parties, a view supported by Washington, without much success. The U.S. remains invisible to both the secular forces that those confessionals, the first charge the Americans have given their support to the Muslim Brotherhood and then terrorism, during the following elections that brought to power Mursi. The U.S. support was seen as a betrayal of the struggle against the dictatorship of Mubarak, replaced with a dictatorial form an alternative but similar, this vision has produced authentic anti-American feelings because Washington was too hasty to recognize the Muslim government, without being then able to retrace his steps once verified that the methods of government did not respond to the request of the Egyptian people for democracy. Conversely parties and confessional movements blame the U.S. an alliance with the armed forces that have overthrown the government emerged victorious from the elections, exacerbating the negative view traditionally present in the conception of radical Islamist. Both sides have so refused to meet with the assistant U.S. Secretary of State, sent to Egypt. Once again, the American foreign policy has appeared extremely wavering and undecided which way to go, showing a liability and a wait, which eventually produced only negative effects. It will be equally interesting to see how it will be accepted in the EU's top diplomat Catherine Ashton to visit Egypt soon, but given the history of what has been reserved to the United States, it is safe to predict a similar reception.
