Kerry wants to reach a final peace agreement between Israel and Palestine
The next trip to Israel of U.S. Secretary of State , John Kerry, will aim to present the guidelines of the proposed Washington for the conclusion of the peace process in the Middle East . In the meetings scheduled with Netanyahu and Abbas will have to be addressed all the more difficult questions, which represent obstacles to the agreement between Israelis and Palestinians. Kerry hopes to meet deadlines set by the White House to end the historic negotiations , which should then be signed in April or May 2014. In reality, this date seems still far away , have not seen the progress expected and , despite the great American commitment , the end of the deal does not seem to be yet in sight. Without acceleration , which under the circumstances seems to be absent , the U.S. goal is unlikely to be achieved. Certainly not enough to aim the liberation of Palestinian prisoners that Israel releases more than anything else to justify the increase in advance of the removal of the territories of the West Bank . In fact, this is the essential point is that the major obstacle to the negotiations , the rejection of compliance with agreements on their respective borders , constantly violated by the Israeli state . For Israel , struggling with an economic crisis that is intertwined with a considerable equally serious housing crisis, always finding new land for settlements has become a priority of national policy, justified by nationalist forces and religious ones. It is no coincidence in the structure of government representatives sit right political parties of expression of these addresses . However, the shortage appears to be greater than the American Washington has committed to fund the program in the event to honor of Obama's foreign policy , but it did, so far, only in words, without sanction , that is, in Tel Aviv 's expansionist policy . The Netanyahu government has consistently taken advantage of this laxity USA and used the tactic to delay the peace talks with the clear intention of advancing the state of Israel on Palestinian land , by subtracting ground steadily . If the Palestinians , they also weakened by an economic crisis in part due precisely to the conduct of Israel , were still far in front of the effrontery of Tel Aviv, this did not mean passively accepting the impositions that Washington and Tel Aviv were going to apply : first of all, the continued presence of Israeli armed forces on ground of the future sovereign state of Palestine. However, in addition to a firm refusal , which implies the failure of the American plans , Abbas could not go, because the West Bank is not protected by any international force that can deter the advance of the colonies. The Palestinian attitude is certainly more responsible because they do not respond to provocations , but without a persuasion of Israel, which can only be done by the United States , the negotiations remain stagnant. It remains to be seen whether Kerry will be able to produce convincing arguments for both sides , who can justify American optimism , that in the current state of affairs seems only a facade. However, without a resolution of the issue of the settlements will remain firm and the deal for Obama it will be a further figure certainly not beautiful in the international arena .
