Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan signed the Eurasian Union

Albeit with some aspect , which was targeted by Putin, who has not been reached , the agreement for the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union was signed by Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan . Moscow had , for the moment, to give up a more political approach of the new supranational body in favor of a perceived mainly economic , characterized by free trade in favor of the movement of goods, labor and capital. In fact there are various areas that are still out , for the moment, it is as pharmaceuticals, oil and electricity , although in the future it is said that we can reach a wider integration . For Russia it is still a success at a time when the Kremlin is to suffer the isolation and international condemnation for the acts of Ukraine. Moscow , with this agreement , excluding international breaks and lays the groundwork for a possible enlargement of the Eurasian even China and Iran . The body of the new economic numbers are not negligible but not too relevant , GDP, for example, of the three members combined reaches the French, but the opportunities available , especially in the energy field , to outline a future as a protagonist for the new union . One hundred and seventy thousand people of the total population , with 20% of the world's gas , 15% oil and 5.9 % of carbon numbers are considerable , although not supported by an industrial development up to it. The new common market will be operational by January 1, 2015 and for Russia represents the most successful attempt to create a body which is similar to the Soviet Union , although the absence of Ukraine is unlikely to be recovered but what about Armenia and Kyrgyzstan there are good possibility of accession. One of Putin's political agenda has always been the creation of a supranational entity capable of competing with the European Union , he regained the territorial area of the USSR, to balance the Western power in Eastern Europe and to prevent further enlargement to the east . The Ukrainian issue should be seen in this view that the head of the Kremlin considers necessary as a basis for allowing Russia to resume its role as a world power. To balance these ambitions of Putin, who is the majority shareholder of the Eurasian Union was , for now , the action of Kazakhstan, which has prevented the inclusion of the political clauses in the treaty that was signed : the supranational citizenship , the same foreign policy, legislative bodies and cooperation for the common defense , are all aspects that Russia wanted to be included in the agreement but that the Kazakh President Nazarbayev has refused , preferring to retain the sovereignty of member states for these delicate matters. It is possible that this attitude has been to influence the behavior of Moscow in the Ukrainian crisis and with the annexation of the Crimea. However, both Kazakhstan, Belarus have every interest , from the economic side , to forge this agreement with Russia , which would allow to increase its GDP considerably. Now it remains to be seen how the new body will be placed on the international stage , especially if you follow the directions of Moscow, pointing to alternative market and use it as a starting point to new economic and political alliances with the clear aim of making ineffective the international sanctions . This signature also could increase the decisiveness and the intervention of Moscow in the Ukrainian regions that are appearing pro-Russian sentiments , as well as in other areas who are experiencing similar situations , as part of Moldova. Perhaps it is also to protect themselves from these possible scenarios that Kazakhstan has been adamant in refusing to go beyond the economic aspect of the Treaty.
