The West needs to defeat Boko Haram

With the story of Boko Haram , Africa is confirmed as the emerging center of Islamic terrorism, but the story does not have to be limited to an analysis , albeit necessary , the importance and the advance of fundamentalism in the Muslim African continent, but must also be detailed to the peculiarities present in Nigeria , a country that comes close to being a great economy , both for their own potential, for which the rate of growth . The group Boko Haram , which rejects any Western influence , represents the tip of the Islamist movement , which is opposed to the Christian , splitting in two Nigeria. The country is crossed by endemic corruption , which causes profound inequalities that Muslim fundamentalism uses to hire its militants. If the situation has worsened with the cruelty of kidnapping girls to make slaves , Boko Haram has long been targeted by anti-terrorism analysts in more than one state . The request for help from the Nigerian president , is thus an opportunity too good not to be exploited . On the other hand the incompetence and disorganization of the Government of Nigeria , are a major cause of growth of the terrorist group , but not limited to ; Also the operating position, situated in the north of the country, allowing Boko Haram to have contact with the areas of Mali edle Burkina Faso, where they act different bands , who base their existence on the trafficking of drugs, people and weapons. It is suspected that Boko Haram is being supplied by the immense arsenal that is Libya , where the local government has not yet managed to take control of the situation. Nigerian president surely will respond to the appeal of American, English and French , while they should not deny their help even Chad and Cameroon , who fear the enlargement of the terrorist movement . The fight against Boko Haram , needs a range of specialists , ranging from special forces in the air until you get to aircraft and of course the drones. One of the problems associated with the use of Western forces could be raised as an episode of neocolonialism and thus provoke disagreements and international disapproval of the local population . The Western countries should use all possible precautions to ensure that this does not happen to not disrupt the chances of success in the fight against terrorism on the African continent . A clear victory could deal a decisive blow to these movements that are becoming the African branch of Al Qaeda and threaten the stability of a vast region of the world , which will become fundamental to the economy of the planet. To this end, it will be important for maximum involvement of the United Nations , supranational organizations and the largest number of African nations of Africa. Amount to be recovered is also interreligious dialogue to favor the more moderate elements of both Muslims and Christians . From the point of view of domestic politics in Nigeria is not only important to overcome religious differences , but work to significantly reduce the social imbalance , which presents itself as a determining factor for the growth of terrorism , which becomes often export commodity . A military operation only , even radical , is likely to solve the problem only in the short term , while it is necessary for stability , which goes well beyond that national aid and collaborations that will develop the institutions and the bureaucracy of the country of Nigeria. It is an investment for global security , but also for the opening of a huge market , which until now have not fully understood the real and actual size . The pacification and stabilization of the African continent has to be one of the central themes of international politics, but should not be seen with a view to exploitation , which promotes extremism , but in collaboration with advantages on both sides . To the west one of these is the defeat of terrorism in Africa.
