The strategy of India to stop China's influence in the Indian Ocean

India identifies new priorities of his defense, to counter the dominance of China and explore new forms of cooperation with the United States. The Chinese expansionism in Asia is seen as a danger to the Indian nation, both geopolitically and economically, and the two countries are divided by a deep rivalry, which helped in the recent past, a close fight on level of international relations for gaining the favor of neighboring nations. On this road must be part of the Indian prime minister made the journey in Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Seychelles; these countries are of great importance to the strategic interest that cover, thanks to the location of their territory, where they can be installed bases to guard the increasingly important trade routes of the sea. New Delhi believes it is essential that these countries are not subjected to the influence of China, which would allow Beijing to get closer to the Indian country, concern shared by Washington, which has made the defense of the seas of Southeast Asia a staple of their international politics. The struggle between India and China takes place on the basis of financial investment involved also in the military sector. Beijing has given a boost to the modernization of its military apparatus, raising the concerns of neighboring countries and the United States, which has had to balance the potential Chinese investments equally important. China has focused heavily on expanding its navy and air force and military ships Chinese are increasingly present in international waters far away from the motherland, officially engaged in exercises and to perform tasks patrols against piracy marina. This activism of China, however, has aroused many suspicions about the true intentions of Beijing, especially in countries like Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and India itself, who fear a growing Chinese expansionism; on the other hand, the Chinese have said many times, even with the US, to believe the sea area of Southeast Asia under its legitimate influence, triggering sharp contrasts, with potential crisis situations very dangerous. In this framework, which exacerbates an already present contrasting, India has increased its military budget, allocating a share of 11% compared to the previous digit and coming, therefore, to provide for a cost of about 37.4 million euro. The majority of these investments concerns the marine and aviation sectors, practically echoing China's choices. This is a clear indication of the intention to confront China on the same grounds and at the same time try to acquire potentially as military value, to be presented as a deterrent to thwart the ambitions of China. This development, however, promises scenarios of continuous confrontation, even at a distance, which will lead to a creation of more and less stable equilibrium, based on the use of force as an implicit element of international policy dialogue, more and more important within the diplomatic channels . Inside the diplomatic tour of the Indian prime minister will be the most significant stage in Sri Lanka, where the change of government has coincided with a new and opposite direction taken by the new government, no longer in favor of China, which were suspended contracts for the construction of new port facilities in Colombo. This decision should, therefore, foster relations with India, a country almost contiguous, and further tighten the relationship between Beijing and New Delhi.
