Yemen may become the new Iraq

In Yemen, you're fighting a war parallel to what happens in Syria and especially Iraq. The advance of land that has forced the troops of the caliphate to retreat, conducted by the Iraqi army, assisted by Shiite fighters from Iran, has shown that the war against the West and from regional, now took a characterization of type more religious, the confrontation between Shiites and Sunnis and parallel tightened adversity between Saudi Arabia and Iran. The situation is also complicated by external factors, such as the fate of the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear issue, in which Saudi is particularly contrary, as to threaten to take the same path in the country to get Iran to balance the potential of atomic Shia country. Riyadh fears a development of the power of the Shiites to its border, on the territory of Yemen, developing a sense of encirclement that could make it dangerous. It should, however, analyze the internal situation in Yemen, focusing on the problems of security of the country and not just on the outside influences, which are important, but they are a complementary aspect. The equilibrium heavily unstable Yemen has made one of the most insecure and unstable; the strong presence of Al Qaeda, which the country is now the major stronghold, is one of the reasons of greater destabilization, so as to engage the US armed forces in several raids, conducted with drones on targets such as shelters and base camps of ' terrorist association. In recent times, the greatest influence on the country seems to be in the hands of the Shiites, who, for this reason, have been the targets of terrorist attacks with many victims, implemented right into their places of worship. That seems in place a strategy to throw the country into chaos, as is accessing in Libya; Shiites accuse Saudi Arabia and the United States of wanting to hit the growing political and social part of the Shia in the country of Yemen. In reality, the situation is not so simple and defined. You should always keep in mind the role of Al Qaeda, which does not intend to leave the only territory where it still has a cult following, also an anti Caliphate, for domination of the galaxy Sunni terrorist. From this perspective it is clear that Al Qaeda's interest, both practical and political, to contain the advance of Shiite, also as a factor of prestige to oppose the Islamic state, but the accusation could be Saudi Arabia not entirely unfounded, as it could meet the need to balance the growing influence of Shiite in Iraq, first dominated by Sunnis. The case of Yemen, but also Iraqi, is the battle from a distance between the main representatives of the Islamic schism. This fact has an important significance for the international stage, but especially for the balance of American foreign policy. If the allegations in Riyadh, are at least plausible, though not certain, those Western countries and especially in Washington appear difficult to be reliable. Not that this means that the address in US foreign policy is a certainty, but rather the opposite. Probably, at this time the White House has to take an attitude almost equidistant between Saudi Arabia, formally the largest Sunni ally, and Iran, through which must reach agreement on the nuclear issue and now bought a some strategic value to have committed his men on the ground, in the conflict against the caliphate. For these reasons it does not seem possible that the US is involved in acts against the Shiites, plus Al Qaeda remains a goal to defeat in the fight against terrorism. One possibility would be formed by the use of the Yemeni situation as a form of pressure on the part of Arabia to the United States itself, a maneuver with the dual purpose of removing the influence of Shiite country and put Washington in difficulty facing the two parties . The situation in Yemen appears, however, at the time ungovernable internally by only one person involved, as was pointed out by the UN. As always in these cases, it is recommended that the dialogue from a distance, without an organic able to bring calm in the country.
