Palestinian question: the Vatican recognizes the two-state solution

The announcement that the State of Vatican City has reached an agreement with the State of Palestine, as it is called in official documents the Palestinian entity, which recognizes the two-state solution, namely the coexistence on the same territory of Israel and Palestine transmit to the international debate the Palestinian issue from a different view. The scope of the document is very important for the international scenario, as it is a recognition of the Palestinian state to exercise its sovereignty within the borders established by UN Resolution 1947; This was explicitly stated by the Vatican secretary for relations with states, and therefore value an official from the State of Vatican City. The agreement between the parties provides for the insurance of the activities of the Catholic Church in Palestine and the mutual recognition and will be signed in the near future. The intent of the church of Rome is to promote the recognition of the sovereignty and independence of the Palestinian state and to become a role model for other Catholic states; the effects of this agreement are not limited, in fact, the bilateral relationship between the two parties, but, because of the moral weight and authority of the Catholic Church, they open a way forward, which may allow the progressive recognition of the year of Palestinian sovereignty on the part of a growing number of international actors. Even the fact that the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, will be received in official audience by the Pope, is a further evidence of the intentions of the Vatican; However, even greater significance is the canonization of two sisters born in Palestine, who will become the first born in the holy land of Jesus Christ. Although this act is of a religious nature, a connection with the agreement with Palestine, is also of considerable political significance and becomes an instrument through which the Vatican implicitly recognizes the importance of the relationship with the Palestinians. The hope of the Roman Catholic Church goes in the direction of being decisive to reach the two-state solution, which would put an end to the old problem between Israel and the Palestinians and follows the path of the US vision carried out with great difficulty and without results appreciated by the Obama administration, through the work of the Secretary of State, Kerry. For the United States to move the Vatican is an aid and an incentive to resume the work of conviction of Tel Aviv. But Israel did not respond enthusiastically to certain signed by the Vatican, but unfortunately once again the arguments to support their opposition does not constitute a valid contribution to the debate on the subject. Motivation, that any act or action tending to recognize the right to the Palestinians to exercise their sovereignty, is a threat to peace has become by now a chorus without any constructive way. Tel Aviv can not expect to justify before the world the violation of international agreements, those of 1947, with the aim of increasing their territory to the Palestinians taking it away, justifying them as peace initiatives. In fact one of the parties who seek peace is precisely the state of Israel, which does not recognize the need for the creation of a Palestinian state, Arab breeds violence, which thus becomes a functional tool to maintain the status quo, from which Israel collects own greater benefits. But the announcement of the Vatican is the confirmation of what the worldwide trend is to want to get to the two-state solution, which is also the best possible for the regional balance. In terms of international relations, the recognition of the church of Rome is yet another defeat and a further source of insulation for the state of Israel, which sees more and more increase its solitude to defend its unjustifiable failure to accept the two-state solution. This international favor, more and more marked, so that Palestine becomes an independent state can only result if Israel's position will not change in a straightforward manner, in initiatives including economic sanctions, such as the European Union designed to boycott products from the colonies, which will have to Tel Aviv costs ever higher.
