The Baltic countries and Poland, calling the Atlantic Alliance a permanent presence on their territories

Military strategies that Russia has used to conquer the Crimea and overturn the balance in the eastern regions of Ukraine are of much concern in the Baltic countries and in Poland. In recent conflicts in which Moscow has pledged to subtract portions of land in Kiev, they are used mixed media, defined by analysts "hybrid war". It involves using conventional military means and actions, conducted without official insignia, that is, a use that does not want to be clearly attributable to a state, operate disinformation campaigns and espionage, which are designed to prevent or, at least, make it difficult The action of the injured parties to instruments of international law. In Crimea, after the initial phase of the invasion forces without uniform, we have moved to a later stage where we tried to make it legal, through a referendum conducted with questionable methods, the separation of the territory from the rest of the nation. In the eastern regions it has repeated the trick to send troops without insignia, while, as a deterrent to prevent retaliation, have been brought to the border a large number of troops, under the guise of military exercises. The Russian air force has repeatedly invaded the airspace of the Baltic countries, even touching incidents with the media line and the same technique was used by submarines in Moscow, often spotted in foreign territorial waters. The launch of a missile, probably started from bases of rebels arrayed against the Ukrainian village, but presumably supplied by Russia, has shot down an airliner Malaysian, for which has not yet been found responsible. This strategy has, for some time, alarmed the countries that belonged to the Warsaw Pact and have passed into the Atlantic Alliance. Fears have been exacerbated by the possibility that Moscow would deploy nuclear weapons in Crimea, with the obvious intention to raise the tension and prevent any action of Ukraine and the Atlantic Alliance itself. Just one of the goals of Russia is to prevent an approach to its borders of the forces of the Atlantic Alliance, which is experienced, for a country increasingly imbued with nationalism, like the invasion of their living space. This state of palpable tension has led the three Baltic states and Poland to request the presence of permanent troops of the NATO troops on their territories. What is feared is not an invasion or attempted annexation, as happened in the Crimea, as individual episodes but quantitatively significant, tending to bring the destabilization within these countries. Russia, ie, may try to bring confusion in civil society and in the institutions of the nations that are no longer in the influence of Moscow, but which are geographically closer. The presence of contingents of NATO could instead represent a deterrent to the Russians, who should not cause an accident or military diplomat. The Baltic countries would like a brigade rotating formed between 3,000 and 5,000 units, while Warsaw had asked the permanent presence of a brigade on its territory. The Atlantic Alliance, would, however, some problems in providing positive answers to these requests: for reasons of disagreement between the members, both logistical and financial problems. However, the Atlantic Alliance said it had stepped up naval presence and to have extended the missions of aerial surveillance. For the Atlantic Alliance is not yet one of the means used to fund is diplomacy, not so much towards Russia, how to increase cooperation among member countries, particularly among those belonging to the European Union and those that do not belong there, but are very close, as in the case of Turkey. This issue is, however, not easy practicability, as Turkey, recently has moved away from the US and relations with Brussels are certainly not good for the rejection of the European Union at the town turkish inside.
