The causes of emigration Eritrea
One of the nationalities that most helped to swell the migratory phenomenon is that the Eritreans. The
internal situation of the country is conditioned by an executive who is
the systematic violation of human rights its own way of governing. This practice has been defined by a UN report in a similar manner to crimes against humanity. The
system of coercion of the Eritrean population is based on the lack of
balanced judgment, that is run through a legal apparatus accomplice of
the government, which basically authorizes extrajudicial practices,
various types of torture, including sexual and obligation of forced
labor. The
presence of the United Nations Commission was not allowed in the
country of Eritrea, and that in fact is an evidence of the conduct of
the government of the African nation, and has had to rely on more than
550 testimonies in front of the UN members, registered in foreign countries, to which must be added 160 written reports. Control
over Eritreans happens with a huge police apparatus, called worthy of
totalitarian regimes, which is present in all areas of society in the
country, with a network of informers, which subjects the Eritreans to a
constant state of fear and control which can determine the arbitrary detention, disappearance of persons until the physical elimination. The control over the Eritrean nationals is not just the country, but also extends to communities living outside the country. The
prison system is structured to deny any information to the families of
detainees and the conditions of the prisons are very poor as regards the
hygiene and medical care, also because of excessive overcrowding to
which must be added the ' systematic use of torture; these conditions determine a large number of suicide. The
obligation of military service is, in fact, a form of legalized slavery
forcing recruits to forced labor and where the abuse takes place with
even sexual abuse. Of course in the country freedom of the press and religious they are totally absent. These
conditions determine the great migration that forces to escape much of
the Eritrean population, which deserves to be considered, like that in
Syria, as coming from a country at war. The West does not have priority as some form of intervention in Eritrea, to overthrow the regime that occupies; but
a state of emergency in the country would justify greater attention and
demonstration of responsibility, if only to limit the continuing
violence in which the population is subjected. The UN itself should put on the agenda a mobilization capable of creating the conditions for an intervention; in the meantime it is unacceptable that the Eritrean refugees have difficulties to be accepted in Europe.
