The Pope's visit to Egypt

The Pope Francis mission to Egypt, which becomes the 27th state visited by the pontiff, has a dual role, both diplomatic, within the dialogue of faiths, necessary for the attenuation of fundamentalists, and to bring to the Egyptian Christian community, Is the most important of the Middle East, with its nearly ten million faithful, a proximity that wants to signify and underline the importance of Christian presence in the region, especially after the persecution of radical Islamists. The Vatican's attempt is to foster a dialogue with moderate Islam, such as building an intercultural bridge based on interreligious relationships, as a means of affirming the necessary coexistence relationship with respect for mutual respect and collaboration. The Pope's interlocutors are the moderate Islamic religious who are historically rooted in the Egyptian country, thanks also to the conduct of the most important Islamic theological school, founded in the tenth century and which has about 300,000 students. The influence of this Islamic institution is prevalent in the Arab confessional world and is thus the main interlocutor for those who want to attack fundamentalists from a theological and doctrinal point of view. However, the Pope's maneuver is likely to focus on the radical Islamic focus on relations with the main exponent of Catholicism, identified as a factor of contamination of the purity and religious supremacy of the Islamic faith on any other confession. This may lead to wanting to attack Egyptian moderate Muslims as a warning for those who want to contaminate the other faiths through dialogue. The Pontiff and the Vatican's strategy is that, not so much to combat entities as the Islamic state, but to try to prevent new ones; At the same time this is also true of moderate Muslims, who at the same time aim to promote the integration of so many Muslims in Europe, in the countries of emigration. This goal also aims to avoid radicalization outside the Arab world, which so much aversion has created for non-radical Islamic believers. A similar concern also applies to the Pope, which aims to create a network of protection for Christians in Arab regions, in order to avoid the persecution that the followers of Christianity have been subjected to. The ultimate and joint goal is to create or better recreate a system of coexistence and mutual respect, as a fundamental element of mutual security and as a factor of isolation of the radical phenomenon. The Pope, with his visit to Egypt, is part of the quest for the protection and respect of Coptic Christians, who have a thousand years of presence in the territory and who represent an important part of the Egyptian social fabric, while being a religious minority. In the Vatican strategy, it is important that an important country such as Egypt, seen by many as the leading state of the Arab region, takes on a formal commitment to the protection of Christian believers, because this may also be an example for other states of Islamic confession. The Vatican state is aware, however, that the position of the Cairo government, recognized as a dictatorship by many, may be unpopular to Western powers, however, the pontiff could also appeal to its influence also to try to improve the attitude Of Al-Sisi and alleviate the violation of the civil rights that the country is suffering. On the other hand, to guarantee religious freedom, it can become a fundamental tool for the Egyptian government in order to regain consideration on the diplomatic scene and the overthrow of the Pope's visit ensures a worldwide visibility that must be continued to bring Egypt out of the present insulation. The country of the pyramids, which has failed the test of democracy, could become a religious tolerance laboratory, an example for all Arab countries, and this could also be a starting point for a possible development of democracy, stifled by The government of the Muslim Brothers and then the military junta, but that mutual religious respect could make it again and extensively, a necessity of the Egyptian people, even of the secular one.
