The major economic inequality emergency of the planet

After liberalism has established itself as a method of managing the economy and society, the most striking result is the great inequality that has been created on a global level, going to affect not only the regions formed by the most backward countries with society more disadvantaged, but also going to affect the balance of the richest areas of the planet, which saw a steady decrease in that part of the middle class formed by salaried workers. The eloquent value of a given prevails over all the others and is the manifesto of the current situation: one percent of the world's population holds more wealth than the remaining ninety-nine percent. But it must also be remembered that seven out of ten world citizens are resident in nations where the rate of inequality has increased over the last thirty years and also that this wealth is generated by the exploitation of at least forty million people, whose work can be classified as slaves, due to the conditions in which their work and pay are carried out, which is considerably insufficient (and in these forty million are also included four million children). Inequality, therefore, represents the real world emergency, whose eventual resolution could solve most of the world's problems. However, this emergency is underestimated, preferring greater concentration on individual issues, which should instead be addressed in the context of a marked improvement in social justice. The progressive growth of the unjust distribution of resources, carried out to the detriment of the work, increasingly penalized, in favor of capital, of those who hold the means of production and of the position rents, has become a means of social control, which has compressed the rights, sometimes even the most elementary ones, up to the more or less evident negation of social and often political rights. Such high inequality is the most evident symptom of the failure to apply the Western values of democracy and social progress, which have been reduced, sometimes to the point that they remain only nominal, in favor of the prevarication of the profit of the few and the affirmation of finance on the work, a real turning point to create the conditions for the extreme differentiation of income distribution. Politics has become a hostage of the richest part, even if it is a minority, and has enslaved itself to it becoming an instrument of social immobilism pursued in the protection of privileges: in this the conservative parties have been complicit, who have not expressed a labor protection policy , but only the capitals and, even worse, those on the left, who pursued the rights in the issues most congenial to them, distorting their political peculiarities, with laws and measures that have favored insecurity and have not safeguarded the nominal value of wages . There is a transversal situation in the countries of the world where taxation increasingly protects assets by counteracting the policies of income redistribution, now increasingly inadequate: the means is to counteract and not apply the progressivity of taxation and allow tax breaks for companies and companies , which add tax breaks to earnings often produced with the exploitation of workers. The phenomenon of globalization has fostered this tendency by competing the low labor costs of some countries with the high cost of the industrialized nations and therefore to the detriment of the workers of the richest countries; Politics has not been able or wanted to effectively counteract this evolution and this has led to a leveling down of the rights and the weight, also social, of workers. If there are still considerable differences between the north and the south of the world it is also true that the symptom of the increase in inequality is a clear indication of the direction in which the societies have started where rights had become established and started to be affected: a progressive weakening of salaried workers, which was reflected in a general impoverishment concerning small craft businesses and small traders. The fact that in countries such as Italy, the greatest economic difficulty concerns the internal market, also compressed in China, the world's largest producer, reveals that the share of the population belonging to the middle class is rapidly moving downwards, creating the perspective of an era that will be characterized by profound social conflicts, which could lead to situations of high danger.
