Non-governmental organizations blamed for fostering immigration

The desire to prevent the landing of the few migrants embarked on a ship of a Spanish non-governmental organization, by a minister who will be in charge for a short while, confirms a completely wrong strategy with regard to the phenomenon of immigration. The case is first of all Italian, but not only: the lack of institutional collaboration of the European Union, now established, denotes a low relevance of Brussels against the individual needs of the parties of European countries, which do not want to risk a populist drift, but, that to pursue this goal they abandon their founding values. Certainly this does not apply to formations or sovereign governments, but the only solution to closing the borders is only the will to postpone a problem, which wars and famines will repeat with increased dimensions, especially in the long term. Immigration has become the only argument of certain political forces to gather support: it goes beyond economic incompetence and the mismanagement of public affairs, however, at a time when programs are absent even in opposition political forces it seems the only one argument capable of giving consent; however, in order to give the guilty to the public opinion, it is necessary to identify a specific subject to whom to impute all responsibility. We do not analyze the hunger conditions due to food shortages and problems with water, the poverty of the populations due to corrupt governments, often from Western countries, but now also from China or situations of war and unbearable violence. This is not taken into account, because these are causes, which, while being tangible, appear to public opinion increasingly conditioned by the distorted use of social media, such as mere abstractions. Better to blame non-governmental organizations as perpetrators of elusive plans to destabilize Western countries. The Italian case is peculiar: it continues to tolerate the arrival of migrants on smaller boats, but in greater quantities, so as to be a total number greater than that of the bailouts of non-governmental organizations, which not a few rescues, but individually numerically more consistent. The ships of international organizations have avoided the death of several people, but are taken as a symbol by the sovereign forces as subjects that carry out illegitimate practices and, consequently, presented as a danger to the borders, so as to prevent access to Italian ports. Europe, while officially condemning this policy, does nothing to stem it, leaving the problem of managing migrants to Italy, thanks to the screen of the Dublin Treaty. In doing so it provides an alibi for certain political parties, which are facilitated to blame the arrival of immigrants on non-governmental organizations. This is a vicious circle that feeds anger and resentment into a public opinion that is less and less able to read the situation objectively. The other side of the matter is that those who accuse, in essence, non-governmental organizations of saving lives, do not present alternatives to the current situation, not even exercising that due action which, for those who hold government offices, should be mandatory. On the other hand, the action of non-governmental organizations really fills a void deliberately left by the Italian state and not even filled by the European Union. Immigration, for the reasons already explained, is increasingly an uncontrollable and unavoidable phenomenon, which cannot be limited or discouraged with the threat of death at sea due to the lack of relief. The conditions that oblige them to emigrate are considered by migrants to be worse than the same possibility of perishing in the Mediterranean or before, along the route to reach the Libyan coasts. Blaming non-governmental organizations, directly or indirectly, means fleeing from specific responsibilities that reach the highest positions of governments and European institutions.
