China will exhibit its military power in the 70th anniversary parade

China is preparing to celebrate the seventieth anniversary of its creation: the intentions of the ruling class of Beijing will have to be an event where to expose the progress of Chinese progress, through the parade of its most advanced weapons. For some analysts it will be a real show of force, directed above all to the United States, with which the People's Republic of China has, by now a very conflicted relationship. There will be profound differences with the first parade, which celebrated the birth of Communist China: in that demonstration, the aircraft that Beijing could have paraded were only 17. On October 1, however, will parade 15,000 soldiers, about 160 airplanes and various armaments, including drones and long-range missiles. Despite the denials, about a demonstration against the United States, it seems legitimate to believe that the military parade is a clear and decisive apperance for those who want to exercise interference in those areas that China considers of its exclusive competence and also against those who want to exert pressure on its economy and on the guarantee of exploiting commercial routes, especially maritime ones. Publicly exposing a rocket capable of carrying a dozen nuclear warheads and capable of covering a distance of 14,000 kilometers, seems to be a clear political act, of international politics, which appears to be an explicit warning to show that Beijing is able to sustain a dialectic based on military threats and to get involved, not only as an economic power, but also strategically. This show of strength does not come as a novelty, the figures of the great investments in armaments, which China has supported to create a more modern military force and equipped with the most advanced instruments, is well known, as it is known that this effort is going on from a lot of time. The need to become a global world power is derived from the need to protect the country's economy and therefore be able to dialogue on a par with the United States, which is the real competitor on the world stage. The stage of the evolution of its armaments is only one part of the Chinese project to compete in the global leader: the large investments sustained in Africa, Asia and Europe show a clear desire to play an increasingly important role in the international scenario, even if this involves a growing aversion, which can be defined as natural, in the increasingly cumbersome presence of the Chinese country. The signal of a greater weight of the armed forces cannot but arouse concern for the ever-increasing risks for world stability, however, for now Beijing has not shown signs of wanting to abandon its habitual caution in the international field, even if in particular areas interest, like the Chinese Sea, the Chinese military presence has grown, increasing the risks of potential accidents. Internally, the situation remains complex due to the Hong Kong issue, where the celebration of the foundation of the People's Republic of China could be the occasion for demonstrations and consequent repression by the central government. In this respect, Beijing is under scrutiny by the international community and any possible violence could be a reason to attack the Chinese government. The situation of the former British colony is certainly a test for China, because it cannot resolve the rebellion with the methods used in other less flashy areas of the country, in other words the repression against Chinese Muslims cannot be implemented in Hong Kong , under penalty of commercial retaliation not irrelevant for the Chinese economy. Therefore, beyond the military power exhibitions, the seventy-year anniversary of the Chinese Socialist Republic presents the necessary considings on the part of the West, especially of Europe, about the relations that it intends to maintain with a country where democracy does not exist and which intends to export its capitalist model to the world.
