They resume the negotiations for the admission of Turkey into the EU

The slower negotiations for joining the European Union, the admission of Turkey, will be taken up in the next month of November. The country is officially turkish candidate since 1999, but obstacles of various kinds, including the last recent repression suffered by demonstrators in Istanbul, who took to the streets to defend civil rights . Precisely because of these facts , the negotiations , which were to resume in June, were suspended , under pressure especially in Germany. The will of the institutions in Brussels seems to be to include Turkey within the European Union , seeing this as an opportunity admission is cheap, the country is in great turkish growth, both geopolitical , to bring under the banner of the great influence that European Ankara has on the Arab world and how the EU should be a staple for reforms in the country. However, the main doubts concern the individual European states , which are still elements present in the turkish state that do not comply with the provisions on the requirements for admission into the Union. Aside from the resistance of Greece, Turkey's historical enemy , the issues concern the actual turkish democratization of the state , especially in relation to civil rights, justice , freedom and security. The recent events have repressive , in fact, fueled questions about the real relevance to European values of Turkey. One school of thought , however, is inclined to favor the integration , because thanks to this it is believed to favor a faster process of genuine democratization. A little worry not , especially the more conservative forces , is the impact of a country of 76 million people, mainly Muslim country would be the first with this feature to enter a supranational organization formed by nations of Christian character . Although the religious aspect can be defined attenuated in most of the continent , the imprint increasingly sectarian given to Turkey by the Erdogan government , with heavy repercussions on daily life can be an obstacle to the negotiation , precisely because of the illiberal aspects arising from ' application of the laws of Islam . On the other hand it is also true that a large part , but not the majority, of the society of secular Turkey is defined and closer to Western behavior , and it is from these areas that are more pressures to enter Europe as a full member . But there are also aspects of geopolitical , which will be hard bargaining , such as the question of the Republic of Cyprus , a member of the EU, which Ankara does not want to recognize the agreements on free movement. For Turkey, the Cyprus affair will not be easy to handle as it is a very sensitive topic in the country, but without the resolution of this problem is virtually impossible that the country of the crescent can get the approval for entry into the EU . Apart from these obstacles, the European Commission has recognized that , at this time , Turkey, as values of democracy , human rights and economic development, achieved thanks to its willingness to implement reforms , is located at the closest point in its history , the European standards, essential requirements to be met to complete the process of inclusion in the EU.
