Alarmed by the growing persecution of Christians by the Islamic State and the events in Pakistan, the State of Vatican City becomes a supporter of military intervention, which aims to guarantee religious freedom and civil rights, not only of Christians, but even those belonging to other religions, including Muslims themselves moderates, subject to violence by the caliphate, to promote peaceful coexistence between people of different faiths. The shape of the hypothetical intervention should be framed in a system of international forces, with a substantial participation of Muslim countries, with the clear aim to delegitimize the reasons that underlie the Islamic state. This is the same vision of US President Obama, which, although based on incorrect assumptions, having not had an adequate response by Sunni countries, did not allow the proper response to the violence of the Caliphate. However, the importance, not only theoretical, to form an alliance not only Western, is pre-eminent in the intentions of the Vatican, not to turn a potential military intervention in the war of religion, something that could be exploited by the morally caliphate. Although the priority indicated by Rome is the achievement of a political solution, without the use of violence, the new position of the Vatican is a great novelty item internationally, for a state entity, which has always sought the conclusion of international conflicts through peaceful methods and negotiation, as its absolute point of view. However, the finding that the increase in violence on religious grounds has reached too high and too long protracted, allowed to break a taboo for the institution that is the Catholic Church; This attitude must also be understood as a kind of pressure on world powers to intervene to put an end to the suffering of the civilian population, which all too often, are intimately linked to the grounds of religious affiliation. Excessive imprint date confessional conflicts, like the one in the middle east, but not only, resulted in the return to practice almost medieval, that through the excessive use of violence, sought to homogenize, in the religious sense, entire territories through who exercise political control, in the name of the deity.
