The Christian persecution: problem for the West

The massacre of Christians in Kenya, together with the statistics, which are the followers of Christianity, the most persecuted in the world, impose a serious reflection on the causes, mainly political, that led to this situation. Identification with the Crusaders and also with Rome as the capital of Christianity, became a symbol of violating win, can not be analyzed solely on the basis of a simple opposition between Islam and Christianity. There, some of the visions that are based on this opposition and often are less respectful of the different currents within the same Islamism, but this radicalism is not born of a competition on the primacy or the authenticity of religious dogmas, which are also part of the main reasons of theological opposition. The biggest problem should be framed on the grounds of political and economical. Christianity is identified as the instrument of Western power, especially from formations and governments more fundamentalist, but too often the parties of Islamic society more moderate. One of the senior managers in this state of affairs has been imposed, just by the West, the phenomenon of globalization in the world, with the same manner and time in very different territories. Attempting to approval, convenient to the world of finance and industry, could not be implemented uniformly in cultures with different rate of development and different attachment to local traditions. To this must be added the poor management and shortsighted of the Arab Spring, as well as the attempt to export democracy, result in bankruptcy. Basically it is purported that peoples and nations far from Western ways of democratic processes and ruled by absolutist regimes, would pass from one day to another, without a gradual process to become citizens aware of rights, that just in the West were won in consciously at the cost of great sacrifices and in times considerably long. It is applied, ie, the method of distribution of goods to that of political rights, equating ideas to finished products, whose processing required a maturation of civil society long and laborious. This was seen as an invasion into the sphere of traditions: a clumsy attempt to limit the weight and importance of the traditions in society often still closed in the pen tribal. At the expense was the Christian religion, lived as an element of invasion and break the monopoly of the Islamic religion, despite the presence in some cases and territories, now also secular. From this vision, favored by the incessant propaganda, combined with heavy funding of the countries with political orientation strongly confessional, has developed an aversion to the cults perceived as outsiders to the customs authorities. The rigid reading of the Koran and its application in law material has caused, for Christians, the fact of becoming main object of persecution, who have the intent to liberate the territories of what is considered a presence inconceivable for intolerant views of extremists. To the West raises two essential problems. The first is as a feedback system to provide outside its borders, considering the absolute lack of reciprocal treatment, even in countries that are considered political allies, think of Saudi Arabia, which in addition to deny religious freedom, in a wider discourse, does not guarantee any civil law. Some of these states are considered important partners and even essential for the geopolitical chessboard and the Western strategy, and in consequence of this fact are omitted forms of pressure for the respect of the rights, which are confidential, even as a form of pressure, nations considered adverse. But in a context marked by a broader view, one can not consider the persecution to Christianity as an act of war just to Western values; this reflection requires a different attitude, even at the price of clashes with allied countries: require the guarantees civilians should become the basis for further bilateral relations with countries where these are lacking in them. The second problem is how to relate to the members of the Islamic religion, within the territories of the Western nations. This aspect includes both organizations more moderate that disturbing phenomena as the fighters went to swell the ranks of groups like the Islamic state. In the middle there is the problem of accepting refugees, on which it becomes inevitable operate thorough investigation to prevent from intrusion by terrorists. The problem, as a whole is complex, because it includes the maintenance of rights, but also the need to protect themselves from aspects increasingly invasive and, in international relations, an effort that does not seem to be faced now, in an age of large imbalances and instability. The real danger is that the rise in the Western hostility towards Islam with similar behaviors and outside the law. To avoid this drift must now a commitment of states, both international and domestic, to develop higher forms of dialogue immediately, without discarding any unpleasant possibility of interventions to contain the spread of fundamentalist forms which might endanger delicate balances.
