The programs and the objectives of Obama's foreign policy

The story shows how Barack Obama's presidential intentions, even when they become electoral programs , can be distorted by factors emerging , which distort the best purpose . In foreign policy, the President of the United States , wanted to mark a distance by the work of his predecessor, put Washington no longer framed as the capital of American imperialism , but as the protagonist of a new era marked by peace and cooperation among peoples . This objective, which also were marked also some successes , it seems far from being realized . The aftermath of Bush's policies son , could not be stopped suddenly and relations with Islamic extremism are exacerbated , despite all the efforts made by American diplomacy . It is true that progress with Iran open new scenarios in relations with the Scythians , but in the meantime have become the true fundamentalist Sunnis , where Al Qaeda and the more radical movements have found a better chance of taking root . This is evidenced by the very difficult situation in Syria , where the possibility of removing an obstacle to stability in the Middle East has clashed with the unreliability of most of the rebels , which recognize the most radical Islam . Similar situations have occurred in the countries of the Arab spring , dealing with groups who win elections , willing to apply sharia as the basic law in their respective countries . The clash of Obama with the so-called " realpolitik " was traumatic : the elasticity of the American president has been put to the test , even in internal relations , where the Republicans , especially those belonging to the Tea Party , are placed on opposite positions extremely , who see the American supremacy in the world, as a fundamental value of foreign stars and stripes . But globalization has played a role as an ally for Obama, who has faced an international panorama changed completely , where the emerging powers , requiring treatment at par, which facilitates the vision of Obama. However, this does not mean that Washington should become subordinate , but must reassert their supremacy in different ways. This is the aspect that has most embarrassed Obama and where his leadership was put to the hardest test. Address international crises with weapons can often be synonymous with weakness, but in some cases Obama was forced to use methods that did not share , even to raise his popularity in difficult times, however, the dominant attitude was to use diplomacy , even in the harder version , such as the repeated use of sanctions , which have been able to take full results . Now the spying scandal exposes President Obama to an examination , perhaps far harder than that of the Afghan or Iraqi , management and solution of this problem will be the future of American foreign policy , since it is unthinkable a strategy to bring forward solo. The new global balance also oblige the United States to treat their allies , finally , on an equal footing : if Obama will be able to understand this element and to translate it into practice will get two objectives at once : to have had an enviable personal success on the floor historical and lay the foundations for American supremacy , no more lonely but first among equals, the only way to remain the most important nation in the world.
