The populist movements towards a strategic union in the European elections

The populist threat on the forthcoming European elections is becoming more concrete . The alliance, called strategic pact between the Northern League, the Italian movement of local matrix , rooted in the north of the country, with the French far-right party led by Marine Le Pen, the National Front , is only the beginning of a project which aims to integrate in the same group in the European parliament, all those movements populist , anti-immigration and adverse to the euro. In fact, the aversion to the single currency is due to the excessive fiscal discipline imposed by Germany , but the theme framed in these terms does not seem to urge voters too . The goal is to create an alliance that also includes the Dutch, led by Wilders of the PVV , the Austrian FPO Strache , the Swedish Democrats , who have distinguished themselves for their fundamentalist positions and, finally, the Flemish separatists . Repeatedly accused of racism , the leaders of the two parties , Italian and French, reiterated not to recognize in this indictment. Their slogan could be " another Europe is possible," less anchored to fiscal policy in Brussels, more respectful of local traditions , but also less willing to accept immigrants, who for the French and Italians are Africans , while Swedes may be the same from other European countries, including Italy right in this very similar to the positions of the anti-immigrant Swiss movements . A union that is also dictated by the need to overcome the regulations of the European Parliament to set up an independent group that can do stand out more than his own voice and that it can get better access to finance. However, Marine Le Pen has been more cautious about the possibility of creating a single group for many more programmatic differences , differences that Salvini, the secretary of the Northern League, wants to decrease relying on what he calls " common concern " identified in the operation too bureaucracy of the EU , the euro and the massive immigration . In support of these issues the two parties , although autonomous conduct election campaigns in their respective countries should also have common initiatives . This political agreement is seen to materialize then the worst fears of those who feared the advance of populist groups , which now also have a common strategy to gain greater political clout within the next European parliament, what will have to decide crucial issues towards unification politics of Europe. The politics of these groups will be to hinder the process of unification at all levels , both on defense policy, foreign policy and that of course on economics. A sure obstacle to the programs of Brussels.
