Israel seeks an alliance with the Kurds
In a Middle East increasingly shaken by wars, tensions and strong sense of instability, the proposed Netanyahu, in favor of creating an independent Kurdish state, becomes a strategic element in Israeli foreign policy and can become a factor, albeit partial stabilization the area. Israel is usually very cautious to express their views on issues of the Middle East and Arab countries, preferring to keep a low profile, to prevent the chance of Tel Aviv accused of meddling. In addition, the Turkish Kurdish issue is very delicate, because it touches the interests of Turkey, with whom good relations are now a thing. Even the United States, Israel's most important ally, have always expressed, probably wrong tactics for an Iraq indivisible, despite the difficulties of cohabitation between the parties of the country. Although this approach Washington has encouraged the Iraqi Kurdish autonomy in the country, also by virtue of the aid given by Kurdish fighters to the American army during the war with Saddam; However, for a vision, perhaps limited, politics in the region and also not to go against the interests of the Turks, a key partner in NATO, the White House has never voted in favor of state autonomy of the Kurdish people. With this in mind, especially in matters of foreign policy, it is even more surprising support of Israel to the creation of an independent Kurdistan, even against the intentions of Washington. The new element in the foreign policy of Tel Aviv seems justified by the need to have new allies for Israel in the Middle East, which is being characterized by a dangerous decline toward Islamic extremism. Moreover, even the Kurds are not well regarded by the Arab governments or Muslims and represent an ideal ally for the country of Israel. For the Kurds, it is an important recognition, which can put at the center of diplomatic discussions, the need for long-awaited creation of the state of Kurdistan. Certainly, this proposal will be opposed Safe Turkey and Iran, increasing the distances of the two countries from Tel Aviv, but it represents a reasonable proposal for a uniform ethnicity in the wrong way by the division of the short-sighted European colonialism, which has been able, when he had occasion, show good skills of organization and government. On the diplomatic level the clear position taken by Israel is a novelty and could be the beginning of a new interpretation on the international scene, that also aims to emerge from isolation to the Palestinian question. The Israeli prime minister said that between the Israelis and the Kurds have already exchanged, since the 50s of last century, a collaboration at an informal level, which might at this point be enshrined in an official manner. This setting may also force the U.S. to become unbalanced in favor of a Kurdish state, but only limited to the area of Iraq, putting on the diplomatic scene all the authority of Washington. With a view to contain the advance extremist Sunni this fact has, however, a double interpretation: if one considers the Kurdistan a bulwark against fundamentalism, outside of alliances with the traditional enemies of the Arabs, to NATO may be an opportunity to have a safe, conversely, an official alliance with Israel, the Kurds could become a safe target, a symbol from attack by extremists; this would force the U.S. to a personal commitment to the defense of the new state. In any case it is future scenarios, which may still be far away, here, for the moment, consider press novelty, in the diplomatic arena of Israel, that with this move might give a different direction to its foreign policy in the neighboring area, in terms of self-defense on the political level, as well as on the military.
