The Secretary of State of the United States, seeks to form a broad alliance against the Islamic State
The most urgent goal of American foreign policy is to build the broadest possible coalition against the Islamic State, to defeat the advancing terrorist in the Middle East. The Secretary of State John Kerry is pursuing this goal with a real diplomatic offensive, capable of uniting the majority of the nations bordering the Caliphate. These involve countries that are also on opposite sides, but are still interested, for various reasons, the defeat of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. The meetings addressed are the representatives of the Gulf monarchies, Jordan, Egypt and Turkey. The proof, for Kerry, it will not be easy, since it will reconcile opposing positions on issues not secondary, as the attitude towards the Muslim Brotherhood, opposed by Egypt and Arabia, but opposed by Turkey and Qatar. A separate chapter for Iraq, which must find a political synthesis in the interior, which provides a fair representation between Shia and Sunni, in order to deal with the threat of an Islamic state in a unified way. A crucial role of aid for US Secretary of State will be that of Egypt, which has managed to carve out an increasingly important part in the negotiations concerning the problems of the region: first in the difficult negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, during and after the events Gaza, after the coordination of the Arab countries against the caliphate; In this regard the axis with Saudi Arabia seems to be the most important innovation, after which the two countries, following the election of Mursi had occurred were not on good terms. This privileged dialogue with Saudi, who can boast of Cairo, can be determined by Washington, as the alliance with the Saudi monarchy is not the same after the American approach to Iran. The importance of an effective agreement between the Arab countries is determined by the defeat of the caliphate, even more, that even the necessary support in Europe. A real sharing the goal of finally defeat the Islamic State, needs the wholehearted support of the countries of the region, both from a religious point of view, that political and tactical. The aspect of religion, in fact, has been held in high regard in the overall strategy, which includes the condemnation of the highest religious authority in Egypt, which has publicly warned men of the caliphate to be guided by the Quran and the Prophet. The Arab League, as a supranational body of the Arab countries, has already confirmed its intention to support any attempt at containment of the Islamic State and to support Iraq against the caliphate. While Iran has welcomed the evolution of domestic politics of Iraq, which is seeking to create a unity necessary to address the crisis. This aspect also reveals that Tehran is heard the ever-increasing problem of the threat of an Islamic state, especially for faithful and Shia sites, which can facilitate the provision of deep divisions with the Sunni states, the USA involved in building an alliance against the caliphate. Despite all these good prospects for the work of Kerry is still difficult because a matter of urgency: the serious situation for the population and the growing influence of the Islamic State, require quick solutions that can not wait for the time far of diplomacy. The need to support the men on the ground of the Muslim countries to the Kurdish forces and the Iraqi regular army, against the men of the Islamic State, it becomes more and more urgent; in spite of repeated actions from the sky US Air Force, without a defense of the territory that would remove the caliphate the current political sovereignty and military victory is impossible.
