Libya canceled the legitimacy of parliament
The Libyan situation looks set to worsen, threatening the already fragile balance of the southern Mediterranean. The government, expression of the election results on 25 June and officially recognized by the international community is destined to fall, after the pronouncement of the Libyan Supreme Court, which upheld an appeal by an Islamist leader, who raised the issue of unconstitutionality of the vote. With the parliament, in fact fallen, even the government official is bound to interrupt his already troubled assets. The country of Libya is divided into two: one that until now was believed to be the legitimate government was already in exile from the capital, and took office in Tobruk near the border with Egypt. The capital, Tripoli is in the hands of Islamic militants, from which Libya has never released after the fall of Gaddafi. The phenomenon is facilitated by the presence of many arsenals that the colonel had spread to the country and the tribal divisions of the nation, which has never been exceeded, thus preventing, to Libya, to achieve the unity necessary to be governed. This scenario has led to the intrusion of the elements to which the Islamic fundamentalist militias, with no control, we are side by side. The regular troops are engaged in a constant war against the militias, currently mainly in the area of Benghazi, but they fail to win, without external support. The political situation is no less complicated than that of security have been several governments that have taken place since the fall of Gaddafi, the situation prior to the last election in parliament saw a predominance of Islamic forces, the situation reversed after the vote in June . The challenge of political defeats outputs is based on the low voter turnout; the illegality of the new parliament is likely to endanger charge the old government, supported by the previous Assembly and ever-present in the capital. The repetition of the vote is required just on this side of politics, the Islamists, but for now the situation is changing and not at all defined. The situation is regarded with apprehension from Europe and especially Italy, which, in addition to economic interests in the energy sector in the country, is facing repeated wave of migration that come together and start right from the country of Libya. The phenomenon is also funding for Islamic militants and an objective means of exerting pressure on the West, already with Gaddafi, Libya had become the southern gateway to access to Europe through illegal immigration and the dictator regulating migratory flows with the in order to obtain funding, aid and political recognition, which the Western states did not have ever denied. The security problem of Libya is also rightly considered vital by the new representative of the foreign policy of the EU, an Italian national, who has repeatedly stated the need to help the secular forces in the country in order to stabilize the political life. However, the attitude is very cautious not to alienate the Muslim, who could win the elections again. The present scenario, beyond the necessary caution, it seems to start to a final release without outside intervention, such as a peacekeeping force that brings peace to the country. It will be necessary to see whether the EU will be going to become personally engaged in an affair which closely concerns, or if you want to be influenced by the usual hesitation of the United Nations. Libya is a strategic country for the balance of Western and you can not run the risk of turning into a state fundamentalist, perhaps influenced by Al-Qaeda in the region is still of some importance, not only because of the important findings from the point of view energy, but even more from the geopolitical point of view, having a geographical location too close to Europe.
