Russia and Turkey allies forced

The geopolitical constantly changing, forcing some international actors, which rank even at considerable distances policies, to operate sudden convergence, sometimes unexpected. This is definitely the case of Russia and Turkey, not really aligned positions coincident too, but that the international isolation in cu ended, albeit for different reasons, has obliged to meet to counter the distrust Western. The rapprochement between Moscow and Ankara is a significant signal of how you present unexpected variables on the international stage. The two countries are on the political and military fronts opposites: Turkey is one of the most important members of that Covenant Atlantica, proud opponent of Russia, which is opposed to the strategy of Moscow to repeat, at least in part, the deeds of the Soviet empire . Equally significant is the profound difference about the Syrian conflict, with Russia always on the side of Assad and Turkey supporter of the need of the end of the regime in Damascus. However the two states have things in common, which may facilitate the progressive approach: while the institutional structure of the respective state, which configures democracies not at all done, where the presence of the guarantee of civil rights is precarious. This design was often a cause of conflict with the West and Turkey, in particular, contributed to the reasons for exclusion from the European Union. The two countries are going through a period of partial isolation, due mainly to an extremely nationalist, besides causing a political isolation, determined, especially for Russia, a relapse also on economic indicators. In this context, it is understandable that were put on the edge of what remains the economic center of the world, seek new forms of contacts and agreements to develop alternative channels of contact. The first consequence designed by Putin is the end of the South Stream gas pipeline project, which was to exclude the crossing of Ukraine, to supply Europe; the increasing diplomatic difficulties arisen from the attitude of Moscow in the first issue of the Crimea and the eastern part of the country after the Ukrainian, they determined the sanctions on Russia, which has revised its policy on the export of raw materials to the old continent. As an alternative to the already planned gas pipeline to Europe, will be replaced by the use of a similar infrastructure that will bring Russian gas to Turkey with a larger quantity of 3,000 million cubic meters, that will give a special price reduction in 'order of 6%. Also in the field of energy, this time nuclear, Russian technology will provide his cooperation for the construction of a new nuclear power plant in southern Turkey. But beyond the necessary economic cooperation, which also includes other forms of trade, the importance of this new alliance that is foreshadowing the international arena is a kind of union between two countries crossed by a deep nationalism that leads to local geopolitical ambitions, they would like to trace patterns supranational outdated: the need for Russia to recreate a territory on which to exercise the influence of Moscow, near the extension of the Soviet empire, is very similar to Turkish attempts to repeat, if not with effective sovereignty, but with the extension of a moral influence at least, the experience of the Ottoman Empire. Russia uses for this purpose its economic capacity, though sorely tried by Western sanctions, combined with its military power, while Turkey prefers to use the religious element as aggregating, first highlighted values with moderate to ingratiate himself with the West, then with the 'departure from this, more and more accentuated to exert attraction on all those Arab countries crossed by uprisings against authoritarian government. But miscalculations and errors of perspective have united these two countries, which have addressed the global context with a view that seems to overcome, without adapting to the general context, but by sticking to a situation that seems difficult to repeat. Now the search for new possibilities of diplomatic relations closer, sought outside their fields of membership, reveals a novelty that obliges the West has to consider the impact of these choices and their possible developments, stressing that the development of relations International can not but record that the great fluidity of supranational bonds can become a constant capable of influencing the balance of world moment by moment.
